BenchConnect
Why BenchConnect?
A better way for makers to find space, and for workshops to make use of it.
BenchConnect exists because the UK is full of talented makers who don’t have access to proper workspace, and workshops with spare benches that sit unused. We bring those two worlds together.

For makers, BenchConnect offers flexible, affordable access to real woodworking environments with the tools, space, and safety standards you can’t get at home.
For workshop owners, it provides a simple way to earn extra income and support the local craft community — without changing how they run their shop.

We focus on trust, transparency, and craft. Every connection is designed to be safe, respectful, and mutually beneficial, helping both sides grow their skills, their income, and their creative potential.

Bench Connect isn’t just a booking platform — it’s a community supporting the future of British making.

How it works for Hosts
A simple way to earn from your spare bench space.
BenchConnect makes it easy for workshop owners to rent out unused bench space on their terms. Whether you have one spare bench or several, the process is flexible, safe, and designed to support your business — not interrupt it.

1. Tell us about your workshop
Share your location, the type of work you do, available benches, and any rules or restrictions. You choose which tools can be used and when.

2. Set your pricing and availability
You stay in full control. Decide your day or weekly rates, the hours you’re willing to host, and how many makers you can accommodate.

3. Receive booking enquiries from makers
We connect you with vetted makers looking for workspace. Review their project details, skill level, and preferred dates before accepting or declining.

4. Welcome the maker and provide a safety overview
When you confirm a booking, the maker arrives at the agreed time. Give a quick briefing on your workshop rules, tool permissions, and safety expectations.

5. Earn income while supporting the craft community
Every booking helps build a vibrant ecosystem of makers — and provides meaningful additional revenue for your workshop.
